But I think Jim could have been more subtle with it. I liked the FBI agents being the true villains better than the amateur wizard from Storm Front. The villain wasn't overly great, and the reader could put together that the cases were connected right in the first couple of chapters, but it takes Harry the whole book to do so. Like others have said, Storm Front was Jim's first attempt at writing about Harry for a writing exercise, and it kind of shows. Obviously, I liked Storm Front enough to pull me into the series, but nearly everything about Fool Moon I thought was better. Hope this is OK.įirst, I thoroughly enjoyed Fool Moon more than Storm Front. I tried to mark them individually, but the post just started to look like a CIA document where every other sentence was blacked out. Someone suggested there that I post threads when I complete books in the series so we can talk about it as a community from the perspective of a new reader and Dresden veterans. Per my other post, I am a first time reader of The Dresden Files.
